Unsuccessful flyDetect installation

Your first install was not successful, and you want to try again

Firstly, you must delete the partial install of the trap from the flyDetect Web App.

  • Log into the flyDetect Web App at www.flydetect.net using your log in details.
  • Navigate to the ‘Clients/Sites’ tab located on the left side menu.
  • Click ‘> View’ on the Client/Site where the trap is located.
  • Find the trap listed which you want to attempt to reinstall and click the pencil ‘Edit’ icon
  • Click ‘Delete flyDetect’ located in the top right corner of the page.
  • Retype the name/location of the flyDetect to authorise the delete and press ‘Confirm’.

Next, you should ensure your mobile phone is no longer paired with the flyDetect trap.

  • Ensure the flyDetect trap has been unplugged and powered down for at least 90 seconds before continuing.
  • Plug in and switch on the flyDetect trap.
  • Wait for at least 90 seconds, and then press and hold the white connectivity button on the underside of the trap for 10 seconds.
  • On your mobile phone, follow the below instructions. See either Android or iPhone.

    Android:
  • Scroll down from the top of the screen.
  • Press and hold the Wi-Fi icon.
  • A list of available Wi-Fi networks will now be displayed. You Should see the flyDetect appear as FlyDetect-XXXXX. If it does not appear straight away, then please wait for up to 90 seconds. If after waiting it still does not appear, please go back to step 3.
  • Press and hold the flyDetect network ‘FlyDetect-XXXXX’.
  • Press Forget Network.

    iPhone:
  • Go to Settings.
  • Click Wi-Fi.
  • A list of available Wi-Fi networks will now be displayed. You Should see the flyDetect appear as FlyDetect-XXXXX. If it does not appear straight away, then please wait for up to 90 seconds. If after waiting it still does not appear, please go back to step 3.
  • Press the blue info icon next to the flyDetect network ‘FlyDetect-XXXXX’.
  • Press Forget Network.

Now, unplug the flyDetect trap and ensure it has been powered down for at least 90 seconds before trying to install the trap again.
